WINEMAKER NOTES
The 2019 Awawhiti is intensely fragrant on the nose with lifted aromatics of dark red fruits reminiscent of blackberries and boysenberries. These dark fruits are supported by a dried herb note that hints at the smokey notes to follow. The palate is unmistakably Central Otago with an earthy spice, dark fruits, smokey tones and balanced tannins. The wine concludes with a long, smooth and concentrated finish
PARIS WITH
This wine is a great match for red meats and hearty dishes.
REVIEW
90 Points, 4.5 Stars – Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
Youthfully charming and perfumed, the bouquet shows sweet cherry, strawberry, floral and subtle spice characters. It's mellow and supple on the palate, offering bright fruit flavours with silky mouthfeel and polished tannins, leading to a lengthy smooth finish. Friendly and delightfully drinkable.
